The Tender Bar
Easily one of the loveliest and entertaining movies I've seen. It is refreshing to see a movie wherein men can be men and good to each other. Especially touching to view as an aunt or uncle who loves his/her nieces and nephews. God Bless all Uncle Charlies and loving grumpy grandpas and all those who fill our lives when a parent is gone. The soundtrack is wonderfully curated and the cinematography was realistic and palpable. Ben Affleck proves once more that he is a superb actor and master of characters with depth and complexity rendered with familiarity and simplicity. It is as if Chuckie Sullivan grew up to full adulthood and raised a little Will Hunting. This movie is all tender, loving, scruffy, male bonding, complicated family relations, philial, pragmatic love.
